Description
The Advanced school on Mathematical Methods for Physicists is a focused training program aimed at early-career PhD students and postdoctoral researchers working in astrophysics, particle physics, and nuclear physics. The school is designed to provide participants with exposure to advanced analytical techniques that play a central role in modern theoretical physics research, but are often not covered in sufficient depth within the standard graduate curriculum.
The program will be held during 6โ10 July 2026 at the Ramanujan Auditorium, IMSc Chennai and will consist of a series of intensive lectures accompanied by tutorial and/orย problem-solving sessions. This year, the school will feature the three specialized topics with an emphasis on developing practical understanding and research-oriented mathematical skills.
- Introductory lectures on Feynman Integrals: B. Ananthanarayan [IISc]
- Differential geometry for physicists: T. R. Ramadas [CMI]
- Analyticity, Unitarity, Crossing: An Introduction: B. Ananthanarayan [IISc]
- Feynman integrals and the method of differential equation: Narayan Rana [NISER]
Through these lectures and hands-on sessions, participants will gain familiarity with advanced mathematical tools relevant to contemporary research problems in high-energy physics, nuclear physics, and astrophysics.
The program is expected to host participants from institutes across India, selected on the basis of academic merit and recommendations. The initiative is intended to contribute to the training and development of the next generation of researchers in theoretical physics. The registration for the event is open and will be closed on 7th June 2026, 23:59 hours.
